Discover what to check before purchasing tiles and flooring to ensure colour and size consistency.

If flooring/tiles are not manufactured in the same batch they can vary slightly in colour and size. We recommend buying flooring/tiles made from the same batch. You can do this by making sure they all have the same dye lot which will be on the packaging.

If you already purchased flooring/tiles that do not have the same dye lots do not fret yet! They could still be the same size and colour. If not there are things we can do to possibly salvage the project with out having to buy more tiles/flooring. For example, if there are two dye lots and the tiles are different sizes we could use one dye lot for all the cut pieces. If you currently have this issue we would be happy to come by to discuss solutions.

Stores that specialize in selling flooring/tiles will most likely know this and make sure they are selling you the same dye lots (but you should still check). We come across this more often when people buy from big box stores.

Keep in mind when looking at samples in the stores that what you end up getting could be a slightly different colour then the sample.

I'm really glad I read your blog! I had no idea I needed to check dye lots and read instructions before purchasing products! Sounds like this info can save people a lot of problems!
